What is Turbo HD From DISH Network
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Satellite TV provider DISH Network just released new programming packages called Turbo HD. These new programming packages are 100% hi definition, leaving out all of the SD channels. So is this new satellite TV the best choice for you?
It all depends on what you want from your pay TV provider. Some folks want every release direct that is unfilled . They don’t care if 10 of them are jewelry shopping channels, or that five of the channels are broadcast access. They just want all of the channels.
Other though, have grown tired of trying to wade through all of the junk on the cable dial, looking for something worthwhile to watch. For consumers who have recently bought a new flat-screen TV, Turbo HD by DISH Network may be the perfect solution.
DISH Network currently offers three different packages with TurboHD, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. All of these packages are made up of HD channels only. Packages start at about $24.99 per month for the Bronze package. That package does not include your local channels like ABC and Fox, which cost more per month.
DISH Network also has the Platinum level, which is an additional service to any of the other TurboHD levels. The Platinum level is ten bucks a month, and includes seven more HD channels such as MGM HD and Universal HD.
One sticking point with some current DISH Network subscribers is they have not been allowed to switch over to the Turbo HD packages. At this time, just new subscribers to DISH Network have been allowed to get the TurboHD only bundles. Current customers can get DISH TurboHD, but only as an add-on to the standard def package.
A final consideration you should know about is how DISH Network is counting the channels included in the packages. Take for example the Turbo HD Bronze setup which includes 44 channels, but of persons 24 are network channels, six are pay-per-view, and 14 are VOD, (video on demand) channels. Some would consider that plenty but many are accustomed to having quite a bit more content to choose from. One final note, none of the TurboHD levels include premium movie channels like HBO or Cinemax, so don’t be surprised when you have to pay an additional fee monthly for commercial free channels like that. DIRECTV Beats Cable TV
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
We have been itching to get rid of Comcast cable for a long time. The conundrum is they suck you in with their packages that include telepone, hi speed internet, and TV service. When customers want to disconnect one of these, you miss out on the savings of the bundle.
But the cable TV service just has to go, as the direct selection and quality is well below par. With so much discussion today about hi def, there just wasn’t much selection with Charter cable TV. So I started researching who else was unfilled in my neck of the woods.
I happen to be one of the individuals who have been given a few options. Unlike many folks who can only select from just the cable company or DIRECTV, I have another provider in this region. The phone company in this area has been upgrading their network. So now I have an additional consideration with Verizon and their FiOS service.
That doesn’t mean of course I won’t have similar problems. It could place someone in the same situation as with the cable company, because touchtone phone company want customers to package their TV service with high speed and voice service. If the service works out well, customers will be pleased. But if its not you’re in the same situation that I’m in now with the cable operator. So I’m doing a side by side comparison, cable vs Direct TV so I make the right choice .
Most reviews I found are sweet excellent on telecom television service. Because it is new, there is always a learning curve with a new technology like this, and some broadcast share their poor reviews. Some of persons reviews are the amusing , because customers make the choice to write a dissertation on their poor experience and post it on the internet. They badmouth the company like it is some giant conspiracy to screw the customer, as if the corporation doesn’t want our money!
Another option I am seriously considering is of course satellite TV. Since we have five TV viewers in our home, we have subscribed in the past to a premium TV package. The satellite TV choices seem to be honestly comparable, as the Premier DirecTV package and the DISH Network America’s everything package are each about $105 per month. Yes that’s sweet high for cable TV, but if you make the comparison with treating your family to dinner and a movie, it really isn’t all that much. Some of my family speak Spanish, so the Direct TV Mas bundle looks sweet excellent . The excellent thing is that there are lots of Direct TV opinions to help me choose which direction to take.
