What are the other research options available for REALLY good coders ?

I am a B.Tech Graduate from Anna university chennai, India.
Right now i have 2 years of experience with a well reputed MNC.
I like programming and algorithms, i am plotting to take my masters in US. The conundrum is , if i go for a research in Algorithms, it is vacant to be fully theory and administration the same with a part time job is really hard.
What are the other research options unfilled
for REALLY excellent
coders ?
